Summary: Er ... "Patience is a virtue in the world of Men" or maybe "Some things are worth waiting for." ... Pick one.
A/N: Uh ... I really don't know where this comes from ... It started as Gimli, then when I was done I realized that a lot of it could apply to Elrond (E/L is my other fave couple)
I will wait.
I have patience, my people are known for it.
I see you now, more gold than the sun.
Your hair like spun gold, shining in the sun, your body taut as a bowstring.
We are joined in battle, mated in blood, yet you see me not.
Not as you see Him.
He who is destined to be a king of Men.
A king, as you will be one day.
Am I beneath you? Nay. I know this is not the reason.
You know I would follow you to Mordor and back.
And you would match my loyalty.
But not, perhaps, my love.
I wait, and gladly.
I know when the war is over, he will be King.
He will wed his bride.
He will be happy.
I will wait.
